Join us for a celebration of chocolate, cacao, and beer! During this experiential event, beer writer David Nilsen and Third Eye Brewmaster Kelly Montgomery will guide you through a pairing of three Third Eye beers with unique craft chocolates, and a tasting of a limited edition variant of Third Eye's award-winning Double Astral chocolate Imperial Stout brewed with Ghana cacao nibs from Violet Sky Chocolate. Along the way, attendees will learn about how cacao gets used in brewing, how chocolate is made, and how to pair these two indulgences together!
After the first three courses of the pairing & tasting, Kelly will lead attendees in a tour of the brewery, culminating in the barrel-aging room in the cellar, where guests will enjoy the final pairing of the evening with one of Third Eye's most coveted barrel-aged beers.
David Nilsen is an award-winning beer writer from the Dayton area. He's an Advanced Cicerone©, and a member of the North American Guild of Beer Writers and the British Guild of Beer Writers. He hosts the Bean to Barstool podcast covering the intersections of craft chocolate and artisan drinks, and he's the author of the book Pairing Beer & Chocolate.
